The Town Center (most commonly known as the Town) was the main room in Club Penguin. It had been there since Penguin Chat 3 on 31st March 2005. It was home to the Coffee Shop, Night Club and Gift Shop. It closed, along with the rest of Club Penguin, on March 30th 2017, almost twelve years to the day it opened.

- Until 2011, and unless the room was full, it would be the first room you started in when you created a penguin.
- It was decorated for almost every single party and event in Club Penguin.
- In June 2008, it was hit by an unnatural earthquake caused by Herbert P. Bear.
- The Town, the Coffee Shop, Night Club and Boiler Room (the latter two having different designs) were the only rooms in Club Penguin to carry over from Penguin Chat 3.
Music
There was no permanent music at the Town until 2013, however the Town was almost always decorated for parties and there was music at the Town during these parties.
After The Journey, it was given quiet sound effects in the background.
Finally on February 13th 2014 the Town was given its first proper permanent music:
On September 17th, when the Descendants Party began, new music was added to the town. It was a remixed combination of the Anniversary Party music and the indoor April Fools music:
